A Division of Krown Services 1423 Dille Road - Euclid, Ohio 44117 - (216)-481-4111 - FAX (216)-481-1489 Cleveland Metal Cleaning is conveniently located in Euclid, Ohio (a suburb of Cleveland) and may be reached by Interstate 90/RT. 2. We are opened Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and we may make special receiving or delivery arrangements upon request.
CMC primarily functions as a Hot Rolled Steel sheet and plate batch pickler. Unlike line pickling, we handle each individual sheet by hand as we load them onto custom fabricated racks, which eventually are lowered into 22’ by 72” deep pickling tank. The pickling tank is a 15% to 20% Sulfuric Acid solution which is heated to temperatures between 120 to 180 degrees, depending on the steel profile and scale removal requirements. One benefit of batch pickling is our ability to visually inspect the sheets to determine the complete removal of scale and or rust. If our estimated time of pickling does not meet the needed results, we simply lower the rack back down into the acid and wait until the job is complete.
When the steel is completely pickled, we move the steel into a neutralized, hot rinse tank. This removes all excess acid and loose scale before the steel is oiled. (WE DO OFFER PICKLED DRY UPON REQUEST – NO OIL IS APPLIED) The final process involves our moving the steel into a 180 to 220 degree 20% to 30% water based oil tank. Because we dip your steel into an oil tank, we must rely on both gravity and evaporation to insure a light, but effective coating. It is our strongest desire to try to meet all of customer’s requirements of quality, speed, and efficiency.
